Photoidentity cards now mandatory in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan state election commission has made possession of the photoidentity card mandatory for all citizens in view of the upcoming Assembly elections.

KOTA: The Rajasthan state election commission has made possession of the photoidentity card mandatory for all citizens in view of the upcoming Assembly elections.

State deputy chief election officer P C Gupta said citizens must produce the photoidentity card to be allowed to cast their vote this year. In the last election, voters had to show any one of 15 authorised documents in order to exercise their franchise.

The voters list in this district was published on January 25 this year.
