Phani Bhusan Choudhury sworn in as the pro-tem speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly

GUWAHATI: Phani Bhusan Choudhury was today sworn in as the pro-tem Speaker of the 14th Assam Legislative Assembly.

Assam Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Choudhury in the presence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at a function held in the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhawan.

Phani Bhusan Choudhury is an AGP MLA.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Chief Secretary V K Pipersenia and other dignitaries were present at the function.

The governor has summoned the Assam Assembly to meet at 9 AM on June one.
