Petrol price hike: Uttarakhand to give Rs 1.87 per litre relief to the people

Uttarakhand government has decided to waive off VAT on the increased amount, providing a a relief of Rs 1.87 per litre to the people.

DEHRADUN: After a steep hike in petrol prices announced by the centre, the Uttarakhand government has decided to waive off VAT on the increased amount, providing a a relief of Rs 1.87 per litre to the people of the state.

A decision to this effect was taken at the state cabinet presided over by chief minister Vijay Bahuguna here last night, official sources said here today.

Following the cabinet decision, the consumers of the hill state would get a relief of Rs 1.87 per litre on the prices of petrol, they said.

After the hike in the prices last night, petrol is currently being sold in Uttarakhand at the rate of Rs 75.24 per litre.
