MUMBAI: A magistrate's court here today extended the judicial custody of former media baron Peter Mukerjea, arrested in the Sheena Bora murder case, till January 25.

He was produced before magistrate R V Adone after the earlier judicial remand expired.

Peter's family members as well as Vidhie Khanna (daughter of Indrani Mukerjea from her earlier marriage with Sanjeev Khanna) were present in the court.

Peter's lawyer Kushal Mor sought permission for family members to meet him, which the court granted.

Peter, 59, whose wife Indrani Mukerjea is the prime accused in the case, was arrested on November 19 for alleged role in the conspiracy. He was in CBI custody for two weeks.

He is lodged in the Arthur Road Jail here, where co-accused Sanjeev Khanna and Indrani's former driver Shyamvar Rai are also kept.

Sheena (24), Indrani's daughter from an earlier relationship, was strangled in a car in April, 2012 and her body was burnt and dumped in a forest in Raigad district of Maharashtra.

CBI has said that the murder had to do with financial transactions involving Sheena.
