Personality of the year award for Gangubai Hangal
Renowned Hindustani vocalist Gangubai Hangal was today presented the "ETV Kannada personality of the year 2007" award by Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna at a function here.

HUBLI: Renowned Hindustani vocalist Gangubai Hangal was today presented the "ETV Kannada personality of the year 2007" award by Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna at a function here.
Speaking the occassion, Krishna said thousands of people had selected Hangal as the personality of the year in a poll conducted by the channel.
He also recalled that Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh had honoured Dr Hangal in 2005 in Mumbai soon after he (Krishna) become Maharashtra Governor.
