Permit us to present cultural tableau on Republic Day: K Chandrasekhar Rao to Arun Jaitley

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has requested Union Defence Minister Arun Jaitley to permit the state to present its cultural tableau in the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.

In a letter to Jaitley, he noted that the newly created 29th state of the country has rich cultural heritage which needs to be showcased, especially during celebrations at national level.

The Chief Minister said the State's Information and Public Relations Department made a presentation before the Ceremonial Committee on September 29 and again on October 7 for presentaion of cultural tableau for the coming Republic Day celebrations in the national capital.

"This is the first time our Telangana state is presenting the cultual tableau reflecting the cultural heritage of Telangana," Rao said. "I, therefore, request you to kindly permit us to present our cultural heritage along with other states".
