Perks that Aam Aadmi Party's ministers or MLA's will give up
The Aam Aadmi Party government will start its power run by scrapping offensive symbols of VIP culture. Here are some of the standard perks that an AAP minister or MLA will eschew:

No red lights

Cars fitted with red lights or any other beacons will not be used. This is one of the promises made in the party’s manifesto. Ministers and MLAs might use government cars for official purpose but for personal work they will use their own vehicles and public transport. AAP will also encourage senior bureaucrats of the Delhi government to follow the party’s example.

No luxurious Housing

Opulent and luxurious government housing is another big no-no for AAP MLAs. From the looks of it, former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s sprawling bungalow in the heart of the Capital will remain unoccupied for some time. Kejriwal has said he will accept a basic government flat in Delhi.

No special security

Special police security or any other form of personal security will not be accepted by AAP’s elected representatives. This stems from the party’s ideology that an MLA needs the same security as a common man.

No to package

The current salary of about Rs 1 lakh per month for CM and cabinet ministers will in all probability not be accepted by AAP’s representatives. The party will discuss whether an elected representative really needs the perks and emoluments he or she is entitled to.

Mohalla sabhas

Funds provided to each MLA under Local Area Development scheme will not be spent by the AAP's representatives. This money — Rs 4 crore for each MLA — will be spent by local governing units called mohalla sabhas. There will be 40 mohalla sabhas in every constituency.
