Performance of PDP-BJP rule to be reviewed before decision on government formation in J&K
People’s Democratic Party would assess the performance of the ten-month-old PDP-BJP rule in Jammu & Kashmir before deciding on government formation.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has not convened any party meeting after the death of Mufti. It is likely to happen after Friday, when she has scheduled a prayer meeting in remembrance of the late chief minister. “Mufti sahab was a great leader and had vision for J&K. PDP would now see how much the party has succeeded in fulfilling his vision,” Akhtar said while talking to state run radio channel.
Even though BJP has supported Mehbooba Mufti as next chief minister of the state without any preconditions and decided to go ahead with the alliance, PDP is seeing this as an opportunity to improve its dented public image in the Valley, due to the unpopular alliance last year.
PDP would see how the Centre has responded to the political vision of Sayeed vis-à-vis J&K. “J&K is a political issue and we would see whether PM Narendra Modi has done something about it,” Akhtar said.
