Sarma said that Deputy Commissioner is asked to ready a crematorium for those who die due to COVID-19.
GUWAHATI: Assam health minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma following the Cyclone Amphan there will be no movement of people from the interstate borders in the state in next two days.

On Wednesday, Assam registered 13 positive COVID-19 cases taking the total number of positive cases to 170.

Sarma said, “Due to the cyclone there will no movement of buses or train. Several vehicles are waiting in the Krishanganj in Bihar. Even vehicles are waiting in West Bengal. Impact of Amphan will be there for two. Even Deputy Commissioners are to be on alert for we are worried about the quarantine centers.”


Sarma said that Deputy Commissioner is asked to ready a crematorium for those who die due to COVID-19. “Three positive patients illegally escaped on Tuesday however three has been brought back. Four people from quarantine centre instead of going to hotel (for quarantine) went to home; two of them were arrested and quarantined. Police is looking for other two.”
