Sharad Pawar, who heads his own faction of NCP, has warned that people would not stay "silent" for long if ECI did not take corrective action on alleged irregularities in the electoral process. "Rahul Gandhi took a meeting and showed the irregularities in the electoral rolls in Maharashtra and elsewhere," he said, adding that ECI should have taken steps to ensure that people's faith in the electoral process was not lost, but they had not done so. "Let's see there are (upcoming) elections now, what happens in these elections is a question ... If ECI does not restore people's faith in electoral process, then I don't know how long the country will tolerate it," he said in Kolhapur.
