People will take revenge from Congress : UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's comment (on Modi surname) only reflects that his party cannot stand it one bit that a poor, backward's son has occupied the country's highest office. He said the people of the country will "take revenge" from the Congress for its insult of the backwards and the poor.

Adityanath made the statement in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the latter's Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi, at a public gathering held for the PM to lay foundation stones of developmental projects in the city.

"On one hand in the last nine years you have seen the materialising of the resolve of 'sabka saath, sabka vikaas' (collective efforts, inclusive growth) and on another hand there are those people who can't stand it that a poor man's son has gotten an opportunity to occupy the highest office of the country. Congress and Rahul Gandhi's statement only reflects this once more that they could not stand that a poor, backward's son reached the top most post and they don't like the way the country and its democracy has prospered," said Adityanath.
