People will foil efforts to disturb peace: Nitish Kumar on BJP

PATNA: With Narendra Modi arriving here tonight and the BJP taking out yatras in the state to pay respect to the six victims of the serial blasts on October 27, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar alleged today that efforts were being made to disturb harmony.

"Bihar has been a land of harmony ... everybody knows that efforts are being made to disturb this," Kumar told reporters on BJP's 'Asathi Kalash Yatra'.

"Those making efforts to disturb peace can continue with their nefarious acts ... people will foil their attempts which aims to derail the development process," Kumar said at a function to lay the foundation of an 11.9 km elevated corridor from Digha to AIIMS in Patna.

"I am watching everything done in this direction for past few months," Kumar, a senior JD(U) leader, said.

"People of Bihar would not like to return to the fire pit of tension," he said.

Launching the kalas yatra simultaneously from Supual, Gopalganj, Begusarai, Nalanda, Kaimur and Patna from where six persons died in Sunday blasts, the BJP has assailed Kumar for not visiting the bereaved families.

BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is arriving here tonight to pay respects to the six persons who lost their lives in explosions at his October 27 rally.

He will go by helicopter tomorrow to different districts to visit the homes of the victims.

JD(U) had separated from BJP on June 16. As a fallout of this,11 ministers of the NDA alliance were removed from the state cabinet.
