Pema Khandu to take to floor test on Wednesday

Speaker Nabam Rebia has resigned from his post of speaker. A congress insider said that Rebia is likely to become deputy chief minister. The floor test is likely to be presided by Deputy Speaker T Norbu Thongdok.
On Saturday last after being sworn as the chief minister, Khandu said, “Though we do not require but we will do a floor test once the Governor (acting) Tathagata Roy is back on state.” Along with Khandu, Chowna Mein was sworn in as the Deputy chief minister.
Roy had left for Tripura on Saturday, he is the Governor of Tripura.
A senior congress leader told ET, “Congress has submitted a list of 45 MLAs to the Governor earlier. Governor does not require to present during the floor test.”
He added, “We do not want to take chances and complete the formalities as fast as possible. Couple of leaders are yet to come to terms that Pema is the chief minister.”
Arunachal has seen the frequent change in the regime with Kalikho Pul, a dissent congress leader with support of BJP MLAs formed Government in the state in March last.
The Supreme Court last week reinstated, Nabam Tuki government in the state. To pacify the dissents Tuki stepped down and Pema become the chief minister of the state.
