Peace in BTR is BJP’s biggest achievement, says Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that the BJP government's biggest achievement is establishing peace in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Since the BJP came to power in Delhi and Dispur, no deaths have occurred due to violence.

Sarma said this while addressing a party workers’ rally at Panbari in Chirang Assam’s district, “After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India, the Bodoland Peace Accord was signed which brought in peace in BTR. The Bodoland Peace Accord was signed in 2020 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I became the Chief Minister of Assam in 2021 and since then neither a single person died in BTR due to bullets nor any bomb blast has taken place here.”
He added, “About 4000 people have died in BTR due to violence. Uncountable numbers of houses have burnt down due to violence in BTR but BJP has restored peace here.”
BTR with 40 seats is expected to go to polls in September this year, BTR is the sixth schedule council under the Constitution.
Sarma said BJP wants to do a lot of work for the region. It is possible only when there is a BJP government in BTR.
He said that the people of the BTR have seen the governance of the Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) and the United Peoples’ Party-Liberal (UPPL). “People have not seen a BJP government in BTR,” he said
