PDP, BJP’s common minimum programme likely on Tuesday; Mehbooba Mufti set to meet Amit Shah
SRINAGAR: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti is set to meet BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday, after which they are likely to announce the common minimum programme of their proposed alliance government in Jammu & Kashmir.

This will pave the way for the meeting of PDP patriarch and CM in-waiting Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the PM on Wednesday, people familiar with the matter said, adding PDP is keen to keep governance and politics separate, given the divergence between its political agenda and that of BJP.

After these two meetings, the two parties will decide the day the new government will be sworn in, a senior leader said, indicating the possibility of swearing-in getting pushed to March 1.

PM Modi may fly to attend the function in Srinagar, added the leader. PDP members said the two sides have decided on the allocation of portfolios, as per which there will be six cabinet ministers each from the two parties, excluding the CM and the Speaker, both of whom will be from the regional party.
