PCPA militia vows to avenge Soren's death

PCPA today called a 48-hr 'mourning' bandh in Bengal.

KOLKATA: The PCPA and its armed militia today called a 48-hour bandh in West Bengal next month to mourn the death of its top leader Sidhu Soren and vowed to take revenge.

"The killing of six of our trusted squad members, including our commander Sidhu Soren and close aide Mita, is the handiwork of the CPI-M and the joint forces," PCPA spokesperson and second-in-command of the Sidhu Kanu Gana Militia Monoj Mahato told PTI from an undisclosed location.

Mahato alleged that CPI-M leaders like Susanta Ghosh, West Midnapore district secretary Dipak Sarkar, Krishnapada Dule, Sukur Ali and Tapan were men responsible for the crime.

"Sidhu Soren's sacrifice will not go in vain. We vow to take revenge which will be lethal," he warned.

The two-day bandh on August three and four would be preceded by a martyr's week from July 29 to August four to be observed by the PCPA, Mahato said.

The health services would be exempted from the purview of the bandh, he said.
