Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Friday met his uncle and NCP chief Sharad Pawar in Pune which the family claimed was just a Diwali get together. The meeting took place at the home of Prataprao Pawar, brother of Sharad Pawar.

Incidentally, Ajit who has been avoiding public engagements for the last few days claiming he had dengue, flew to New Delhi where he along with NCP leader Praful Patel met Union home minister Amit Shah.

Ajit along with his wife Sunetra were at the home of Prataprao Pawar where Pawar Sr, Supriya Sule and other family members were present. While it was claimed that the meeting was a courtesy call as Prataprao's wife was unwell, however, later on family members said that it was a Diwali get together.

Meanwhile, Supriya Sule claimed that it was a family lunch and nothing should be read into it. Ajit's moves come amid the growing murmurs within the government and the Ajit camp that the "promises" made to him before he joined the government were not fulfilled. Now, Ajit attending a family gathering and then flying to New Delhi and meeting Shah has raised questionswith the Maharashtra political circles.
