Pawan Kalyan to meet Modi on likely pact
Film actor-turned-politician and president of Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan is meeting the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday afternoon in Ahmadabad to explore possible alliance with BJP in the ensuing general elections. The younger brother of union tourism minister Chiranjeevi, who had announced his political outfit last week, gave a slogan to his fans to defeat Congress in the upcoming elections.

Expressing his deep discontent over the way the Andhra Pradesh state was bifurcated by the Congress led UPA government, Pawan Kalyan said he was willing to join hands with any political party to overthrow Congress. The Jana Sena president, who had approached the Election Commission early this month to register his party, is yet to formally announce plans to contest in the simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly in the undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, agencies add the actor-turnedpolitician said he was ready to join hands with any party to oust Congress from power. Kalyan launched Jana Sena here on March 14 with the call ‘Congress hatao desh bachao’ , echoing what Modi had been campaigning for over the past few months.

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu had invited Kalyan to join hands with him in the endeavour even as speculation did the rounds in the state that TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance might happen soon. Though sources close to Kalyan said they were not aware of the actual purpose of his visit to Ahmedabad, they confirmed that he would be meeting the Gujarat Chief Minister. “What will be the point of their discussion is not known to us,“ a close aide of Kalyan said.

However, going by talk in political circles here, Kalyan will take up the alliance proposal with Modi. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi said he would have to treat his youngest brother as a “political rival”. “As a brother, my blessings will always be there for Kalyan, but as a political leader, he will be treated as any other rival” , Chiranjeevi said here today.
