Party will sweep first phase polls riding on 'Azad Wave': Congress
JAMMU: Claiming that there is no 'Modi Wave' in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress today said the party would sweep the first phase of elections riding on ' Azad Wave'.

"In Jammu and Kashmir, there is only 'Azad Wave' and it will help Congress win these elections with a huge majority and form the government," joint secretary of state Congress unit Salman Nizami said here.

Nizami accused BJP of indulging in "divisive politics" in the garb of development agenda.

"It was Ghulam Nabi Azad who during his tenure as chief minister brought equitable development in the state. So far, Modi has done nothing for the state of Jammu and Kashmir but people have seen the work of Azad...," Nizami said.

Nizami also accused the BJP of 'hoodwinking the people" by making false promises. "They (BJP leaders) are speaking one language in Jammu and another in Kashmir. Some of their leaders call for abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu, whereas in Kashmir they have a different tone," Nizami said.

Fifteen assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir are going to polls in the first phase on November 25.
