Party MP's book talks of Trinamool-Maoist meet

The alleged Maoist message is similar to what Suman has put on record in his book while arguing for an armed battle against CPM goons.

KOLKATA: A handwritten fax message, signed by Maoist leader Bikram, has raised hackles in political circles. The note, which openly declares the rebels' "mutual understanding, support and joint resistance (alliance) with Mamata Banerjee and her party", surfaced only a day after a book by Trinamool MP Kabir Suman claimed that Maoists had held a meeting in Trinamool Bhavan in Kolkata during the Nandigram agitation.

Suman has dedicated the book — 'Nishaner naam Tapasi Malik' — to Maoist leader Kishanji. It appeared on the shelves on Monday.

The alleged Maoist message is similar to what Suman has put on record in his book while arguing for an armed battle against CPM goons. Suman reminisces an occasion in "war zone" Nandigram where Trinamool leaders Sisir Adhikary and Partha Chatterjee were escorted by "armed cadres".

He salutes the "glorious descendants of the Bengal revolutionary Surya Sen without whom CPM wouldn't have faced the resistance in Saten-gabari (Nandigram) as it did".
