KOLKATA: A Parliamentary panel today said it has asked Coal India to give information on the possible impact of Supreme Court order on cancellation of captive coal blocks.

The chairman of the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, E M S Natchiappan said the chairman (in-charge) of CIL had been asked to effectively implement the provisions of Right To Information ( RTI) by updating information on a daily basis.

He said CIL had been also asked to notify in its website the possible impact of the apex court ruling on coal block cancellation and how the Coal Ministry was going to solve the problem.

The panel chairman said CIL assured them that their business would not be affected and they confident of running their operations.

Other institutions which had been asked to update information in their websites include Kolkata Port Trust, Allahabad Bank and National Insurance Corporation.
