Parliament disruptions: JD(U) blames it on "arrogance" of ministers

NEW DELHI: As Parliament witnessed repeated disruptions and adjournments, Janata Dal (United) today blamed "arrogance" of some ministers for it and asked the government to engage with the opposition to find a solution.

"The ruling party should engage with the opposition to end the deadlock. They should try to find out a solution," JD(U) spokesperson K C Tyagi said outside Parliament.

Uproar by Congress and other opposition parties against alleged "vendetta politics" in the wake of the court summon to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi and others in the National Herald case continued to disrupt Rajya Sabha for the fourth day with the House witnessing two adjournments in the pre-noon session.

"We want Parliament to run. The arrogance of some ministers is coming in the way of a smooth functioning of the House," Tyagi said.

Asked about the public money spent on running of Parliament, he said, "I am worried about the expenditure incurred on running Parliament as well as losses of poor farmers not getting their minimum support price. It is more than losses incurred in Parliament."

"Wheat farmers, rice farmers, cotton farmers do not get adequate support price for their crops and we are worried about them," he added.
