Parliament cancels visitors passes in view of coronavirus

Following the Holi break that ended on March 11, the Parliament has decided not to allow visitors inside the house, and to stop the tours of the premises.

Amid fears of the rising spread of coronavirus, the Parliament has cancelled all visitors passes to limit as much outside contact as possible.

There has not been an announcement on adjourning the House, however, with all other activities proceeding as planned.

Following the Holi break that ended on March 11, the Parliament has decided not to allow visitors inside the house, and to stop the tours of the premises.


The Parliament is also introducing colour-coded passes to help keep visitors streamlined.

The viral outbreak was classified as a pandemic on March 11 by the World Health Organisation, leading to widespread implementation of stricter measures, with India cancelling all tourist visas into the country.
