NEW DELHI: The Parliament on Wednesday approved the imposition of President's rule in Nagaland with the Rajya Sabha adopting the resolution.

The statutory resolution, seeking approval of the proclamation issued by the President on January three, was passed by voice vote.

Except for Rishang Keishing (Congress), who welcomed the central rule, no member spoke as the House was in turmoil created by the opposition over the plight of farmers.

The Lok Sabha had yesterday given its nod to the resolution.

Nagaland goes to polls on March five to elect a new assembly.
