A parcel bomb blast at the Swiss embassy in Rome today left one employee seriously injured, Italy's ANSA news agency reported.

ROME: A parcel bomb blast at the Swiss embassy in Rome today left one employee seriously injured, Italy's ANSA news agency reported.

The man was "seriously injured" on both his hands after opening a package and he has been hospitalised, ANSA reported, citing emergency services.

Police are investigating at the scene of the blast north of Rome's city centre.
