Parameshwara did nothing to stop illegality, says Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Bengaluru: Even as Deputy Chief Minister G.Parameshwra hailed the Supreme Court judgement in the context of saving Bellandur lake and Agara wetlands as the one that favoured the State Government's position, Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrsekhar criticised the senior Congress leader of lending little support in the citizens' fight against lake encroachments by builders.

Parameshwara's reaction followed the court granting relief to thousands of homes that would have invited demolition if the National Green Tribunal's (NGT) order on buffer zone regulations were to remain in force.

Chandrasekhar, also a BJP leader, in a press release said, Parameshwara did nothing the support their fight against illegality in the context of saving Bengaluru's two large lakes.


"Namma Bengaluru Foundation and other Citizen organisations with my full support have defeated the builder-politico nexus that was looting Bengaluru and Bellanduru despite money power they used," the MP said.
