Panel probing alleged scams during BJP rule gets extension

Tenure of the Bhati Commission, which is probing into the alleged scams of the previous BJP government in Uttarakhand, has been extended.

DEHRADUN: Tenure of the Bhati Commission, which is probing into the alleged scams of the previous BJP government in Uttarakhand, has been extended.

An extension of six months has been granted to the commission and it has been asked to speed up its inquiry, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said here today.

The one man commission, headed by retired IAS officer K R Bhati, was set up by Bahuguna government on May 10 this year to investigate into the alleged scams that surfaced during the previous BJP government in the state.

The tenure of the commission was to end on November 10.
