NEW DELHI: Members could be subjected to random frisking while entering Parliament if a report of Parliament security is accepted by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

The report, commissioned by Mahajan as several maintenance related accidents and minor fires broke out in the building, was prepared by a committee of MPs headed by former home secretary and Bihar MP RK Singh and included Baghpat MP Satyapal Singh who was once Mumbai police commissioner.

Sources have confirmed that the report has recommended frisking of MPs by the watch and ward staff of Parliament if, “body scanners pick up some indication of strange objects being on the person of the MP.”
