Panchkula chemist picked up for giving Honeypreet Insaan shelter

PANCHKULA: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sedition case against the face of Dera Sacha Sauda, Aditya Insan, and its functionary Surinder Dhiman Insaan, on Sunday , picked up a drugstore owner from Sector 20 here for allegedly providing logistic support and shelter to Honeypreet Insaan, the adopted daughter of dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Police officials confirmed that they had picked up chemist Satpal Singh. According to sources, Singh was instrumental in providing logistic support to Honeypreet and monitoring of operations at the epicentres of violence on August 25.

“Teams are questioning him and verifying his movements on, before and after August 25.His mobile phone, too, has been put under the scanner,'' said the official.


Panchkula Commissioner of Police, who is directly monitoring the investigations, expressed his inability to share information.
