MUZAFFARNAGAR: The District Panchayat Raj Officer (DPRO) of Shamli district has been placed under suspension by the state government for alleged negligence in duty when he was found absent in Panchayat polls.

The state government has suspended DPRO Mahender Kumar on the report of the district authorities when he was found absent during election work in Shamli district yesterday, District Magistrate O P Verma told reporters here today.

The suspension order was received here.
