Pakistani High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit advocated trade and cultural exchange between Assam and Pakistan. On Saturday Basit met Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

Pakistani High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit invites Tarun Gogoi to Pakistan
GUWAHATI: Pakistani High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit advocated trade and cultural exchange between Assam and Pakistan. On Saturday Basit met Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in Guwahati. Basit also invited Chief Minister Gogoi to visit Pakistan which Gogoi accepted in principle. The Pak High Commissioner emphasized that both India and Pakistan should live in harmony.

According to state government statement Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit also appreciated the law and order situation of Assam and the arrangement and facilities put in place for the ongoing 12th South Asian Games being held in Guwahati.

Chief Minister Gogoi stressed on regular interaction between people of both the countries and said that through extensive use of sports, culture, music as a mode of exchanging interaction among the people the relations between two countries can be strengthened.

Gogoi also said that the spirit of cooperation and goodwill built between the countries need to be maintained for better future.
