Pakistan violates ceasefire, one Indian soldier killed in Jammu and Kashmir
NEW DELHI: An Indian soldier was killed by Pakistani troops in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

According to TV reports, Pakistani troops opened fire in Mandi sector of Poonch area.

"A junior commanding officer was shot dead by the Pakistani troops near Poonch sector," a senior army official told AFP in New Delhi. "Suddenly there was firing from the other side and our officer was killed," the officer added, requesting anonymity.

Heavy firing is still going on at the border, reports say.

Last week Pakistan had violated the ceasefire in the Nowgam region of the state.
