Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch, again
JAMMU: Pakistani troops on Saturday fired on Indian posts in Poonch sector along Line of Control ( LoC) which has witnessed almost daily ceasefire violations since the killing of five Indian soldiers on August 6.


Pakistani troops fired on Indian forward posts with small arms and automatic weapons along the LoC in the Poonch area around 0700 hrs on Saturday, Defence spokesperson Colonel R K Palta said, adding, no casualty was reported.

Indian troops guarding the border line retaliated strongly, triggering exchanges which continued till 0740 hrs, he said.

There was no loss of life or injuries to any trooper in the Pakistani firing, he added.

There have been over 80 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops this year from January 1.

Army Chief General Bikram Singh has also asked his commanders to be aggressive in case of ceasefire violations by Pakistan Army.
