JAMMU: Pakistani troops tonight violated ceasefire by firing on Indian posts along the Line of Control in Poonch district.

Pakistani troops opened fire from small arms and automatic weapons on Indian posts in Krishnaghati sub-sector of Poonch district around 1830 hours this evening, Defence Spokesperson S N Acharya said.

Indian troops guarding the border retaliated with same calibre weaponry resulting in exchanges which continued till 1850 hours, he said, adding, no loss of life or injury to anyone on this side has been reported.
