ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Premier Yousuf Raza Gilani will hold talks with President George W Bush during his first official visit to the US next month since assuming office in March.

While in Washington on July 27-28, Gilani will have a working lunch with President George W Bush at the Oval Office.

Besides Bush, Gilani is scheduled to meet Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Defence Secretary Robert Gates and other senior officials of the US administration.

The Pakistan embassy in Washington is also trying to arrange meetings between Gilani and the Republican and Democratic candidates in the US Presidential election in November.

Gilani will also meet senior US lawmakers, particularly those from the Democratic Party, the Dawn newspaper reported.

Gilani first met Bush on the sidelines of an economic summit in the Egyptian resort of Sharm-el-Sheikh last month.
