Pakistan: Multiple blasts near US consulate in Peshawar

PESHAWAR(PAKISTAN): There are reports of several blasts heard in the Pakistani city of Peshawar on Monday, police said, while some residents said they heard firing soon after the explosions.

The blasts appear to have been in the same neighbourhood as the US consulate in the northwestern city, one resident said.

There was no immediate information on the cause of the blast of if there had been casualties.

According to reports, five blasts were heard in quick succession.
