Pakistan militants kill 2 alleged US spies

Police say Taliban militants killed two Afghan men they accused of spying on behalf of US forces behind missile strikes in northwest Pakistan.

MIRAN SHAH(PAKISTAN): Police say Taliban militants killed two Afghan men they accused of spying on behalf of US forces behind missile strikes in northwest Pakistan.

Official Sakhi-ur-Rehman says authorities found the men's bodies on Saturday in Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region, after being alerted by residents.

One had his throat slit. The other had multiple bullet wounds.

A letter found nearby alleges the men gave information to the US that aided missile strikes in the militant-plagued region. Rehman says the letter claims a CD containing the pair's alleged confession is forthcoming.

The US is suspected in more than 30 missile strikes against militant targets in northwest Pakistan since August.
