Pakistan's High Commissioner to Britain Wajid Shamsul Hasan today relinquished charge of his office.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's High Commissioner to Britain Wajid Shamsul Hasan today relinquished charge of his office.

Hasan quit soon after the Foreign Office announced that Pakistan's envoys to Britain, the United Arab Emirates and Oman had been asked to relinquish charges.

A former journalist, Hasan was appointed by the previous Pakistan People's Party-led government.

After stepping down, he handed over charge to Deputy High Commissioner Syed Zulfiqar Gardezi.

A statement issued by the Pakistan High Commission in London said Hasan had relinquished charge according to the terms of contract of his service.
