Pakistan delegation to visit India to discuss border issues

A delegation headed by the chief of the paramilitary Pakistan Rangers will visit India to attend a biannual meeting with the BSF during July 1-5.

ISLAMABAD: A delegation headed by the chief of the paramilitary Pakistan Rangers will visit India to attend a biannual meeting with the Border Security Force at Delhi during July 1-5.

The delegation, comprising top officials of the Pakistan Rangers, Survey of Pakistan, Interior Ministry and Anti-Narcotics Force, will discuss key issues of common interest and measures to improve peace and tranquillity along the border, an official statement said.

Measures to counter smuggling, "hostile firing" and the repatriation of Pakistani prisoners, including fishermen and persons who inadvertently crossed the border, will also be raised during the talks.

The officials of the Anti-Narcotics Force will discuss the sharing of intelligence with their Indian counterparts and steps to counter the smuggling of drugs through the India-Pakistan border, the statement said.
