Tehrik-e-Taliban spokesman Asad told reporters by phone from an undisclosed location that orders had been issued by the group's local commander Omar Khalid to punish men related to women who do not observe purdah.
The militants also claimed responsibility for kidnapping three locals from Qilagai in Lakro sub-district in Mohmand Agency.
Asad said the Taliban had taken action against the three men as they had detained another person. They will be dealt with according to Islamic laws, he said.
No one has, however, claimed responsibility for the abduction of two other men missing from the Ghazi Baig area.
