In a solemn ceremony held at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Srinagar, Shah laid wreaths on the coffins of the deceased, many of whom were tourists from different parts of India.
The tribute was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also paid homage to the victims of what is being described as one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in the region in recent years.
Officials confirmed that Shah later met with the bereaved families and other survivors of the attack. During these interactions, he expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and assured them that the government would not rest until the attackers were brought to justice.
“The security forces will leave no stone unturned,” Shah said, according to an official statement.

The bodies of the victims had been transported to the Government Medical College in Srinagar during the early hours of Wednesday before being moved to the PCR for the official tribute.
Tuesday’s attack at Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, a scenic spot popular with tourists and pilgrims, has shocked the nation. The gunmen ambushed a group of visitors in a remote, forested area only accessible by foot or ponies. Initial reports suggest that the attack was orchestrated by The Resistance Front (TRF), a militant outfit linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba.
