Pachauri, Chopra conferred honourary degrees
Renowned environmentalist Rajendra K Pachauri and noted filmmaker Yash Chopra were on Wednesday, conferred honourary degrees of Panjab University.
Vice President M Hamid Ansari, who is also the Chancellor of the University, conferred the degrees of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Literature on Pachauri and Chopra respectively during the varsity's at the 57th convocation in absentia.
Ansari also awarded an honorary Doctorate in Literature to renowned academician Pritam Singh and G K Chadha, former VC of JNU, New Delhi.
Ansari said changing patterns of life bring forth new problems at the local, regional and national levels.
"I am confident that as the world changes, and new vistas unfold before us,the youth of Punjab would seize new opportunities to uphold high the banter of their alma mater," he said.
