P V Narsimha Rao memorial NDA's reward for his role in Babri demolition: Azam Khan
LUCKNOW: Amid reports that the Centre was mulling erecting a memorial to honour P V Narsimha Rao, Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan today said it will be a reward for the former prime minister for his "tacit" understating with the RSS in demolition of Babri mosque.

"It has come to my knowledge that the Centre is going to construct a memorial in the name of Narsimha Rao. It will be a reward to him for tacit understanding with RSS on December 6, 1992 for demolition of Babri mosque and construction of 'chabutara' on December 8," Khan said in a statement issued here.

The controversial leader also alleged that with the construction of the memorial, the government wants to ensure that the memory of the demolition is part of the history.

"The Centre is trying to prove that the memory of whatever happened, due to understanding between the former prime minister and RSS, should be a part of the history and message of the insulting demolition goes to the tourists coming from all over the world to Delhi," Khan said.

He said that such an attempt would leave an adverse affect on the society.

According to report in a section of media, Central government is planning to construct a memorial to honour the late prime minister.
