P Chidambaram should take action against Kalyanasundaram for using proxy in public examination: AIADMK
HM in taking action against Puducherry Education Minister, who is facing charges for allegedly using a proxy to write his class X exam.
Secretary of Puducherry unit of the AIADMK, A Anbalagan, told reporters here that he had written to Chidambaram about two weeks ago, drawing his attention to the "fraudulent practices" of the minister.
The crime branch in Villupuram district, where Kalyanasundaram had allegedly used the proxy to write the exam, had registered cases and also initiated steps to serve summons on the minister.
The Union Home Ministry has full constitutional rights to intervene in respect of a Minister of Union Territory under the Union Territories Act 1963, Albalagan said.
"Despite our detailed letter to the Central Home Minister, no steps had been taken to ensure dismissal of Kalyanasundaram," the AIADMK leader said.
Anbalagan said the Home Minister had spent around 6 hours last week in Puducherry to participate in a private function but "did not find time to take action" against the minister.
The AIADMK here would launch a "massive agitation" soon to insist on action against Kalyanasundaram, he said.
Anbalagan also expressed condemned the "lack of steps" on the part of the Chief Minister N Rangasamy to announce civic polls in Puducherry.
