P Chidambaram appointed India's Governor on African Development Bank board

Also, Arvind Mayaram has been appointed as India's alternate Gov on the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank.

NEW DELHI: Finance Minister P Chidambaram has been appointed as India's governor on the board of Governors of the African Development Bank and African Development Fund.

Further, Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Arvind Mayaram has been appointed as India's alternate Governor on the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank and African Development Fund

The appointments are with effect from August 1, 2012, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.

Chidambaram and Mayaram replace Pranab Mukherjee and R Gopalan, respectively, on the board of African Development Bank and African Development Fund.
