P A Sangma to challenge President's Rule in Meghalaya

Leaders of the dislodged Meghalaya Progressive alliance (MPA) led by its leader and former Lok Sabha speaker P A Sangma have flown to Delhi to explore legal ways to challenge the Cabinet's decision of putting the state under President's Rule.

GUWAHATI: Leaders of the dislodged Meghalaya Progressive alliance (MPA) led by its leader and former Lok Sabha speaker P A Sangma have flown to Delhi to explore legal ways to challenge the Cabinet's decision of putting the state under President's Rule.

Eight MPA leaders have accompanied Mr Sangma. NCP led MPA has decided to contest cabinets decision in the Supreme Court.

A Cabinet meeting which was presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday decided to impose President's Rule in Meghalaya and to keep the Assembly under suspended animation.
