Over Rs 24 crore cash seized during Maharashtra, Haryana polls: Government
A total of Rs 24.46 crore cash was seized by various agencies during the recently-concluded Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, the Lok Sabha was told.

Quoting data provided by the Election Commission, Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said while Rs 19.78 crore was seized by police or Income Tax department in Maharashtra, Rs 4.68 crore was seized in Haryana.
"The Election Commission has informed that if cash seized by the flying squad, state surveillance teams and the police has any links with candidate or party, police complaint has been filed and the seized amount is dealt as per order of the court, and if the seized cash is not linked to any criminality, it is handed over to the Income Tax department for necessary action under the Income Tax Laws," he said.
