Over one lakh perform yoga together in Faridabad, set new world record
CHANDIGARH: More than one lakh persons from Haryana set a new world record by performing yoga together at a district-level function organised in Faridabad on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

The event was organised under the supervision of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who led people through various yoga exercises and said that practising yoga would make the practitioners free from diseases and stress.

BJP president Amit Shah said the enthusiasm shown by a large number of people for the event indicated the success of the government's campaign to promote yoga. He said that through the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, people in 170 countries had adopted yoga as part of their lives and International Yoga Day was being celebrated in 193 countries.

The party's in-charge in Haryana, Anil Jain, said that with the efforts of Baba Ramdev yoga had become the centre of people’s faith throughout the world and people across the country had become keen to adopt indigenous practices.

Shah released a book penned by Baba Ramdev, entitled ‘Yog Vishwakosh (encyclopedia)’.
