Over a lakh attend Gadkari son’s reception in Nagpur

NAGPUR: It didn’t matter that the venue Reshimbagh was a trust-owned ground and that hundreds of state cops in uniforms and private security guards were deployed to ensure that no stampedelike situation arises.

What mattered was that around 1 lakh and more people were feasting together with celebrations of Nikhil’s wedding with Rutuja spilling over to the third day on Saturday. After all, who wouldn’t want to attend the reception of BJP national president Nitin Gadkari’s son.

After a closed-door wedding two days ago, a grand reception was held at the Vidarbha Cricket Association’s banquet lawns for the hoi polloi of the country. On Saturday, it seemed as if Nagpur had turned up for the scheduled party for Gadkari’s friends and shareholders from his Purti group.

BJP workers and even corporators were in full attendance , ushering in the guests pouring in from all parts of the city. All roads in the area were choc-a-bloc with people heading to the ground, on foot and in vehicles . The city’s traffic department was forced to divert traffic to other roads.
