JAMMU: Amid tight security, a fresh batch comprising 1,885 pilgrims today left from the base camp here to the cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas.

With today's batch, as many as 17,487 pilgrims have so far left from Jammu base camp for Amarnath shrine.

In the latest batch 1,494 men, 262 women, 29 children and 100 sadhus left in a cavalcade of 53 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagarbase camp here at 04:43 AM, a police official said.
